Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp Sunrise Day Camp is the world’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, provided completely free of charge. The Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island is the only day camp of its kind in New York City. The camp serves over 150 children from Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and nearby New Jersey. Last summer, campers participated in a Sunrise Virtual Camp Experience due to their unique health concerns during the pandemic. Sunrise Day Camp also includes fun year-round programs to keep campers connected throughout the seasons. Learn more here! |
Community-Based Camps We also offer free camp programs at our Cornerstone, Beacon, and COMPASS sites. These programs continue the work we do at these sites throughout the year, teaching leadership skills and encouraging academic success. Community-based camps are funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). |
