Age Entering Grade 1
Camp Director: Lucy Kamil
Our newest camp division means “flower bud” in Hebrew, and it’s the perfect place for your children to grow and flourish! In Camp Nitzan, children participate in a full day of sports and cultural activities such as soccer, basketball, baseball, music, arts and crafts, nature and boating. Daily instructional and free swim are a feature of the program as are weekly shows and special events and occasional local trips.
Under the direction of the (Olympic Gold Medalist) Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy children swim twice daily (including an instructional swim period) in our beautiful aquatic complex. They receive instruction in a wide variety of sports activities including baseball, basketball, soccer, a challenge course and volleyball on our beautiful campground, and are culturally enriched by activities such as music, arts and crafts, dancing, outdoor cooking, drum circle, and Israeli culture. Their minds are expanded by activities such as Fun with Science and Animal Discovery, where they learn about and interact with live animals. The weekly schedule is further enriched by spectacular weekly shows and special events such as the camp carnival, Independence Day celebration, community service oriented Day of Caring and Sharing, and family visiting day.
The program is led by highly experienced staff with degrees in education, social work, and school psychology and is staffed by highly trained, energetic, devoted, and child friendly counselors. We maintain low staff to camper ratios to ensure excellent care and attention to each camper.
Special options include: door to door transportation, a hot lunch program, an early and late extended hours program, and more
Lucy Kamil is the director of our camp division for our youngest children, Kton Ton. Lucy has close to 30 years of experience as a special education teacher in the New York City school system. She is also the mom of 3 active boys.
Lucy most looks forward to spending her sunny summer days doing exciting things like arts and crafts, sports, music, nature, cooking, dance, drama, and, of course, swimming. Under Lucy’s leadership, camp Kton Ton children are well supervised, coached, taught and cared for by her hard working staff.
