CIT I/Camp Etgar is the ideal program to meet the unique needs of the teen interested in increasing responsibility and teen travel. CIT I/Etgar teens get a taste of being a camp counselor, go on great trips and play a role in healing the world.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, teens work with children and begin to learn the skills of being a camp counselor. On Mondays and Wednesdays, they go on trips and on Fridays they participate in fun and meaningful community service projects that help to make the world a better place.
A feature of CIT I/Etgar is that the teens themselves provide meaningful input into the scheduling of the trips and community service projects. Past community service projects have included visiting homebound seniors, preparing a meal for the homeless, participating in an integrated sports day with teens with special needs, organizing a car wash and bowl-a-thon for charity, restoring a Jewish cemetery, and working at the Camp Carnival.
Trips are sure to include Great Adventure, Camel Beach, Dorney Park, Seaside Heights & Mountain Creek. The program is highlighted by two extended overnight trips.
Minimum registration is required.
*Teens entering grade 10 have an option of attending CIT I or CIT II. |
